Error in Collective Agreement Printing CUPE Local 1356

There is an error in the printing [and web versions] of the CUPE Local 1356 Collective Agreement in Article 24.03 part 8 only. To correct this just delete the phrase " (Employee Coverage Only) " The coverage for this benefit was, is, and continues to be for the employee and family [if the family is registered with the employer.]

CUPE protests at Mac convocation

The Canadian Union of Public Employees is picketing McMaster’s social sciences convocation ceremonies at the Hamilton Convention Centre today.

CUPE Local 3906 says the demonstration is to inform the public of “layoffs” which are the consequences of restructuring at the university.

The complaints stem from the concerns of sessional faculty members – faculty serving in a temporary capacity to instruct specific courses on a course-by-course basis – represented by CUPE Local 3906.

UW Custodians Angry by Shift Change

custodians at the University of Washington are coming together across ethnic lines and language barriers to keep their work shifts. The predominantly Asian, Latino, and East African workforce consists of 66 custodians who work from 4:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. On June 1, they will be reassigned to a day-shift that begins at 5 a.m.
