CUPE protests at Mac convocation
The Canadian Union of Public Employees is picketing McMaster’s social sciences convocation ceremonies at the Hamilton Convention Centre today.source Hamilton Spectator
CUPE Local 3906 says the demonstration is to inform the public of “layoffs” which are the consequences of restructuring at the university.
The complaints stem from the concerns of sessional faculty members – faculty serving in a temporary capacity to instruct specific courses on a course-by-course basis – represented by CUPE Local 3906.
