Possible TTC Strike

the link above is not the same content as follows.

The following message was received by CUPE Local 1356.

*** The following message is being sent on behalf of Norman Ahmet, Assistant Vice President, Human Resources and Employee Relations ***

TTC employees will be in a legal strike position on Tuesday April 1, 2008 and accordingly there could be service disruptions and possibly a complete shut down of service on or after that date. Whether or not there are any service disruptions, employees are expected to attend work as scheduled.

Managers should inform their employees of this expectation and suggest that they make alternative transportation arrangements, in advance of Tuesday.

We can anticipate that TTC service disruptions may result in lengthier travel times. Employees should be aware that it may take them longer to get to work on time and should adjust their travel time accordingly. Managers should be mindful that despite their best efforts, employees may be late in arriving for work and they should respond to lateness, as appropriate, in the circumstances.

Employees who do not attend work as expected will be required to use vacation time, or banked lieu time to cover the days(s) missed.
