Army declines to privatize West Point janitors

The U.S. Army has decided not to privatize the jobs of about 100 janitors at West Point.

Janitor teaches kids lessons on literacy, responsibility

Teaching social responsibility is done in the schools but, she says, it can use some positive reinforcement because teachers are overworked just doing the curriculum. Although most kids take the janitor for granted because they don’t see the work involved, her notes teaches them about doing the right thing and taking more responsibility for their own situation. And she does it in a fun way.

This is to notify you that an election will be held to nominate a full-time eligible non-academic employee for a position on the Board of Governors. The term of office is two years, beginning on July 1, 2009. The election will be conducted by mailed ballot, distributed to all full-time non-academic employees at their University workplace addresses.

Nominations are invited of full-time eligible non-academic employees who have a record of at least five years of service at the University. Nominations open March 23, 2009 and will close at 12:00 noon on Monday, April 6, 2009, by which time all nominations must be received at the University Secretariat, N926 Ross Building, Keele Campus.
