Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 1356. We have three Collective Agreements as Local 1356, 1356-01, and 1356-02. The membership is comprised of the full-time and part-time workers of York University the Local website is at 1356.cupe.ca This Blog will include Local information and information garnered from sources other Universities, Colleges, Post Secondary/Tertiary Education and news sources supplying information.

Tentative Settlement Achieved

A Tentative Settlement was achieved today in the Negotiations of CUPE Local 1356 and York University. The Ratification Meetings will be conducted on Tuesday November 4th 2008. Day shift members will meet at their session at 9:00 AM with the Night shift members starting earlier than their usual start time and combining with the Evening shift members for their meeting at 8:00 PM.

    Thank God.. please be reasonable guys, some of us want to graduate and some of us are getting very good grades this year..
